We have "Full-Featured" and "Lite" packages available; whichever you select, your customized Guestbook page will be consistent in style and fully integrated with your web site. Visitors will not be leaving your site when they sign your Guestbook or send you their Comments.

A: If most of the boxes you checked were in the top half of the list, the Lite version will work for you. Submitted forms will appear in your e-mail, and then it is up to you to do something with the info. This version has the benefit of simplicity, which makes it easier to customize, and therefore less expensive if you want to experiment with collecting additional information. For instance we could use the form to ask a question ("Do you like this new feature?" "What is your favorite color?") and then readily change that field to something else later on.)
If most of the boxes you checked were in the second half of the list, the Full-Featured Guestbook is your best bet. It automates data entry and standardizes replies; it also provides an on-line interface to your Guestbook data which allows us to access it in order to troubleshoot problems, walk you through the process of compiling a mailing list and sending a group e-mail or actually handle those tasks for you. Our goal is to make the Guestbook work for you to increase traffic to your site, improve your customer relations and enhance your business. If you want to learn how to work with the Table and mailbox, we will be happy to teach you; if you don't have time or interest for that process, we can handle it for you.
Q: Can I start with the Lite version and upgrade to Full-Featured later on?
A: Yes, and it will not cost as much as starting from scratch, since the web page itself and web site integration will already be done.
Q: I already have e-mail links all over my web site, why do I need a form?
A: The Guestbook form is not dependent on the user's own e-mail set-up, whereas your e-mail links work by finding the user's mailbox on their desktop and opening it to give them a chance to write an e-mail to you. If the user's mailbox is not found when your e-mail link is clicked, the user will get an error message. The Guestbook form generates e-mail from your website, so it will work more reliably. Aside from the technical issues, psychology comes into play as well: People perceive that it is less time-consuming and personally-involving to fill in a form and press "submit" than to compose an e-mail, and are therefore more likely to sign up for your list.
Q: I'm already doing e-mail from home; why do I need the "dedicated" mailbox that comes with the Guestbook?
A: Having a separate mailbox associated with your web site allows us to insure the quality and consistency of your service - that which we are providing to you, and that which you are providing to your customers. The site mailbox is set up to provide consistently professional-looking e-mails, with your business name, contact information and web site address on every message. If you ever have problems with your home e-mail, you can be assured that guests to your web site will still be acknowledged when they sign the Guestbook, and that their comments can be accessed (and answered) on-line, or forwarded to you once your home system is working again. We cannot see what goes on with your home e-mail - and you probably wouldn't want us to; but we can log-on and look at your site e-mail with you to walk you through any tasks related to your Guestbook or professional correspondence, or manage those tasks for you.
Q: How does this compare to other services I see offered on-line?
A: The Guestbook package that Studio Z designs for you is fully contained within your existing website; it matches your web site style and graphics; it never sends your visitors over to another web site; and it never sends your visitors' data to another web site. For the Full-Featured Guestbook: You have full access to the data and are welcome to copy it to your home computer. Our Guestbook comes with complete support services; whether you want to be hands-on or hands-off, we are going to make that system work for you. Please read the fine print for any service you are considering, and give special attention to: where the Guest information is going, how you will access it and if you can copy it to your own software, and what happens to it should you ever want to discontinue that service.
Q: Do you have restrictions on what I do with my Guestbook info and mailbox?
A: We have opinions (to do with you getting the most from your mailing list and not making people want to get off it), and expectations (that whatever you tell your visitors you are going to do or not do with their data, is what you do and don't do); and yes, if we (your webmasters Frank and Zelda) feel you are crossing the boundaries of ethics or civility, we will notify you of your transgressions and restrict your access to the system until the matter is settled. If you keep your use of the Guestbook professional, we should have no problems.
Q: Who will have access to my Guestbook info and mailbox?
A: Officially: You, your webmasters at Studio Z, Frank Johnson and Zelda Gordon, and our technical consultant at Pixels & Code. Of necessity: Technical personnel at our server, SWCP/NMIA, since they provide various services including password management. Realistically, though, anything that is on-line is hackable; we cannot guarantee the security of information that is stored on-line, only that we will establish a password-protected location for your guests' personally identifiable data and manage the passwords conscientiously.
Q: What is your privacy policy?
A: We consider any information that is not on view in the public area of your website to be your private business information and not appropriate for use or dissemination by Studio Z for any reason without your specific prior approval. We and our technical consultants may periodically access and/or copy that information in the course of providing services to you. You are welcome to inquire about the status of data back-up copies or maintenance procedures at any time; and we will be happy to work with you to establish specific privacy protocols or added levels of security upon request.
Q: How do I get started?
We require a deposit equal to 50% of the set-up fee to begin work.
You will be asked to provide some text for the Guestbook web page and for a reply that will go out when a new Guest signs in - so get thinking about that. Check out the other Guestbooks for ideas, and also decide if you need additional customization.
