Heavyweight sheets of watercolor paper were painted with watercolor, then 'gouged' with a block-cutting tool. Acrylic-coated papers and printed acetates were cut into small shapes and glued into the slits in the backing paper. The collages are not covered by glass -- so that the small papers can be 'fluffed' to lift up from the backing paper for added dimension and play of light.
